Our Story

Carrie and Lara met in February 2017 and became fast friends as they bonded over the love of fairies and other magical creatures. Carrie soon asked Lara to paint some fairies on a wall in her home for her granchildren.  After 3 months and many, many hours, a couple of fairies turned into Poppenohna Land.  With the help of Carrie's husband, Jim, the three spent night and day on the project. Characters were created, quilts were sewn, fairy homes were built, and a giant oak tree was "grown". When it came time to name this new world, they figured since it was created for the grandchildren by "Papa" and "Nona", that combining their monikers would make a great name. They soon realized they had to share Poppenohna Land with the world.
